Yes. Burning Token is open worldwide. You can complete the full hackathon online or join the in-person kickoff in San Francisco. The in-person event is an additional experience, not a requirement to compete.

The in-person event takes place on the second floor of Frontier Tower and has space for 150 participants. Entry is first come, first served, and registration through Luma is required. A live DJ will bring the Burning Man energy. Pure vibes.

No. There is no minimum age to participate, and builders from anywhere in the world are welcome.

No. You can build solo or in a team of up to three people. Participants form their own teams.

Yes. You can join as many projects and teams as you want, as long as every team has between one and three members.

Build a working product that solves a real problem for a specific user. Submit it through the Burning Token app before Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM Argentina time (ART, UTC−3). You keep the intellectual property for what you build, and your repository may remain private, but judges must be able to access and evaluate the submitted product.

The submission deadline is Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM Argentina time (ART, UTC−3). That is September 13 at 7:59 PM in San Francisco (PDT) or September 14 at 02:59 UTC. The kickoff keeps its San Francisco local time.

After submissions close, eligible projects will be reviewed during the following week by a panel of industry experts. Projects will be evaluated on Problem, Product, Execution, Validation, Experience, and Demo. The judges’ decisions are final.

Each challenge awards one USD 500 cash prize to its winning team. The prize is awarded per team, not per team member. Payments are coordinated directly with the winners and completed within 30 days of the winners being announced.
